Mysore Dasara 2010|Dussehra 2010|Dusera Celebrations|Navaratri 2010

Dasara is a festival celebrated across Southern India. It is a most delightful Hindu festival of worship and dance. This Festival of Dasara is celebrated for ten days on the occasion of Navaratri. Dussehra festival is celebrated for nine nights every year at the beginning of October. These nine days are divided and devoted to the Trinity of God worshipped in a female form - three days for Durga (Goddess of Valor) three days for Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth) and three days for Saraswati (Goddess of Knowledge and Art). Celebrations are unique ranging from worshipping godessess Chamundeshwari (Durga) to exhibiting colorful toys on the day of 'Bommai Golu' means display of toys. Various colorful Toys are arranged in a row(steps) in different levels, and celebrated on this particular event. Children are invited and given with small momentos -- which usually consists of sundal, sweets, small toys. This festival is celebrated with more glory in and around Mysore, Karnataka.
